A dabbawala is a person in the city of Mumbai whose job is to carry and deliver freshly homemade food packed in lunch boxes to office workers. Though the work sounds simple, it is actually a highly specialized trade that is over a century old and which has become integral to Mumbai's culture.
Dhabbawallas can be seen in action at Churchgate or Victoria Terminus station between 1130 to 1200 hrs. An interaction with them will explain the logistic behind error free delivery of dabbas.
